This SMART (Strategic Marine Alliance for Research & Training) survey, led by Galway Mayo Institute of Technology (GMIT), on board the R.V. Celtic Voyager was carried out in April 2016 in Cork Harbour. The survey is part of an accredited module for graduates, researchers, marine industry professionals and observers who wish to gain practical skills and experience in offshore biological sampling and data collection. The objectives of the SMART survey are to train graduate students and marine industry personnel in practical skills and experience in offshore biological sampling and data collection.
