Training Objectives * To deliver an accredited, offshore, blended learning, post-graduate module that will contribute towards student learning and research in order to fulfill academic requirements. * Provide students with the knowledge necessary to design, plan and execute an offshore scientific research survey. * Develop student understanding of how physical, chemical and biological marine processes shape the marine environment and influence the abundance and distribution of marine organisms. * Familiarize students with the applications of scientific sampling equipment and instrumentation on board a modern survey vessel. * Collect multidisciplinary data sets for analysis, quality control, interpretation, and integration. * Enable students to produce scientific survey reports integrating multiple data sets and analyses of collected samples. * Provide students with the basic knowledge necessary to carry out a cost-benefit analysis of a newly planned marine development scenario
